Apply To Play

The South's fan and band favourite independent alternative-rock and metal festival is back for two days in 2024 and this is your chance to apply to play! We are looking for bands from the South to enter the Takedown Showcase Competition for the opportunity to secure one of two 30-minute opening sets on the main stage. Winning bands will also receive weekend access to the festival.

The first round of the competition will take place in local heats in venues across Bournemouth, Southampton, Portsmouth, Isle of Wight, and Brighton. This apply to play is for a chance to take part in the first round of heats. Please select which heat you would like to enter from the relevant button below – you can only apply for one.

If successful at one of the above heats, you will be entered into the next stage of the competition, which will be judged based on 60% audience votes and 40% judges votes. Industry guests will be present at both the semi-finals (details TBC) and the final, which will be held at Portsmouth Guildhall on Saturday 16th of March 2024.

2023 saw the festival feature over 40 bands across 4 stages with performances from Sleep Token, Skindred, Loathe and many more. Now is your chance to take to the stage and follow in their footsteps.
